    The Workspace Formerly Known as My Dining Room

    Yes, after 3 1/2 years, my house is still very much a work in progress. As the continuing saga of my attempts to simplify (ha) and organize (hahahahahahaha) unfolds, I improvise. The studio space has been partially unburied by my VERY generous and patient boyfriend, but until I purge, say, 300 books, the dining room table remains my primary work space. Today I cut, scored and bound almost 200 pages. No, I didn’t cut them one by one, but scoring does have to be done a page at a time. (Mark, score, score again, erase.) It took about 8 hours.     My Guiltiest Pleasure, Unmasked

    While in Austin in early October, I took a stroll through my favorite independent book store, Book People. As someone who enjoys rambling about my own literary choices (gee….can ya tell?), I also like reading about the choices of others, so I often check out the staff picks. A long time magazine junkie, I sprinted toward the extensive magazine section, where I was surprised to spot a staff pick sign.
